(Based on a true story)
After many years, the goal was finally within reach — except those saddled with the responsibility of handing it over pegged on an additional price, even though they didn’t have the authority to do so.
The girls were basically asked to determine how much years of tedious studying, intense fatigue, hunger, and tears was worth.
Would they walk away from it all a this final lap of the journey, or would they give in the illicit demands of adultrous lecturers who had promised to fail them if they continued to stand their ground and say no dishonoring Christ.
These girls had been faithful witnesses for Christ on campus. They had not done anything to draw this unwanted attention to themselves, which led many to believe that they had been targeted for some evil reasons.
They prayed.
Brethren from the fellowship on campus prayed with them.
Friends and family prayed with them.
But the lecturers were resolute in their pursuit of this wicked end.
As time began to wind down, and it looked like they would indeed have to determine what they were willing to give up for the same of Christ, some of the girls began to lose their grip on faith.
Grounds began to shift and, one by one, they began to fall.
Only a few refused to let go until they failed and were asked by the university to withdraw.
The other girls passed with good results.
Time continued to pass (as it always does) and for a while it looked like, for the girls who failed out, it had all been for nothing.
Time continued to pass.
Until we all realized that something had happened.
One by one, those girls who chose to honor Christ in spite of the cost had opportunities to continue their schooling in better places. They graduated and gained positions that gave them opportunities to be voices that couldn’t be ignored in society. They continued to be faithful witnesses for Christ even then. Their testimony continues to be a reminder that God will never abandon those who put their trust in Him and choose to do the right thing, no matter the cost.
The girls who considered the cost too high and shifted grounds couldn’t do much with their good results. In the end, it turned out to be if no value to them. Their example is a reminder that no good thing could ever come from the place of compromise; the cost is always too high.
May your faith not fail you in times when it’s all you have to hold on to.

Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast…. (Hebrews 6:17-19)
Wow, this is powerful! I’m so happy for those young people standing strong in their faith. It is so inspiring to me to hear these stories … 🩷
Thanks for visiting. Many blessings to you!
