We all know how she likes it quiet, so when she said “It’s too quiet”, it was not that easy to comprehend what she meant.
What did she mean?
We asked her.
And managed to bring her to the-almost-meltdown state.
Needless to say, we still couldn’t comprehend what was going on.
But she explained; at least she tried –
And couldn’t we all just relate!
What do you do when you need a Word, and no matter how you pray, all you hear is silence?
What do you do when you feel some kind of way because of visions you’ve gained – visions that taunt, maybe even mock you, and you wonder what the problem is with you and even the world.
Because –
Look what’s going on with the Church today; there’s the Word that the gates of hell would not prevail, but still, just look. And tell, what’s a Christian supposed to do in times like these?!
Her cry still resonates –
“I pray, but it’s still too quiet here”.
Jesus is still speaking.
He alone gives that perfect peace that passes all understanding.
He is still the head of the Church.
And we should listen –
Just plain stop and listen.
Because –
It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life – John 6:63.

There are many things that concern me as we discount what the Word of God says. It is very scary when we add our own interpretation, or just can’t believe that God doesn’t want us happy. His word refines us.
It is a tough world that we live in. Difficult times for everyone I know. Part of me wants to avoid reading the news because I just can’t take another second of it all. But, as you say, “Jesus is still speaking.” He’s not left us alone. Thank you for this reminder!
I try to spend time every day just listening as part of my prayer time. There’s pressure to be “saying something” all the time, but I want to be present to what God has to say to me.

Very true, Christy. God’s Word does refine us.

So true, Michele. There’s that pressure to be ‘saying something’. But there’s a blessing in being quiet. Jesus is still speaking.
So very, very thankful Jesus is still speaking! I love this!!
He still is! Thanks for visiting, Trish. Blessings to you.
