We’re sisters, but I have to tell you this, this one time

I feel for you.

I honestly, truly, wholeheartedly, and really feel for you.

Tell me this one thing, dear sister:

How much is your life worth?

I should ask that again:

How much do you think your life is worth?

You call God Father, and then you go about seeking security in vain things.
You say you trust Him, but you make plans in complete disregard of His standards.

God understands is your mission statement (I have to tell you this, I don’t even know what that means – like, WHAT, dear sister, does that even mean!?!)

The price for your life was the life of the only begotten Son of God (What more could have been done to help you see!?!)

Why would you spite the gift of God and still go to Church and lift up your hands when the preacher says to lift up holy hands (I’m not judging, I’m just trying to get you! Like, keep those hands down, please! We’re trying to worship!)

And then there’s that particular one you swear by. You know, the one that’s supposedly always there for you. The foundation on which you are not afraid to build your life (WHAT!?!). The daddy that brings the sugar to your life (even if it’s only in theory). The one who completes you (OK shut up!)

I’d say this one time, and just this one time only:

Honey, you are one very deceived soul!

Or you’d have seen that there’s no sugar in this situation (Well, actually there is. This particular one you swear by is the ant in your sugar, and best believe the sugar would run out one day as long as the ant is still in it – maybe not today, but eventually!)

And if you’d just read your Bible, you’d have known that we are already complete in Jesus.

The Lord is our Shepherd, and He is all we need.

So please, remember the price that was paid for your life. Remember Truth again, and live worthy of the calling we have been called with.

Since you call God Father, do not let your life and the choices you make be a reason people revile Him.

And no, you wouldn’t have to do it alone, when it’s Truth you choose to live by. There’s grace, the empowerment of God, enabling us and helping us to live right.

And Jesus is the only one who is truly ever always there for us.

So we know, without doubt, that we’re OK and doing just fine – as would you, dear sister, after you remember Truth again and return to the One who proved once and for all, what your life is worth.

  1. One verse kept flashing through my mind as I read your post:
He who did not spare His own Son, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things.
We want the all things without the Son.
We forget that all things are His to bestow in His good time.
Thanks, Boma, for thinking and expressing this in your own unique style.

    • Thanks for visiting, Michele. And yes, God does not withhold any good thing from His children. We must trust Him. Blessings to you.
